The Chedi Hegra is set to be the first resort built within the actual UNESCO World Heritage site at Hegra, a location the Nabataean Kingdom first developed in the 1st century AD. Building anything — let alone a hotel's utility infrastructure — inside a heritage site of that sensitivity leaves very little room for error, which is precisely why the MEP design has to be verified and clash-free before a single pipe or cable goes into the ground.
Jurosh's scope was design verification of the MEP services covering the project's Utility Building B25 together with the External Utility Networks, both dry services (power, low current) and wet services (water, drainage). Rather than working from 2D drawings alone, the team developed a full Revit model of the Utility Building to LOD 400 — a level of detail sufficient to check that ductwork, piping, cable trays and structural elements don't physically collide once construction starts.
That model was then run through clash detection, with the resulting reports used to resolve conflicts between disciplines before they became site problems. The External Utility Network drawings were finalized in AutoCAD, giving the project a coordinated, verified set of MEP documentation appropriate to a resort being built inside one of Saudi Arabia's most heritage-sensitive sites.
